Davis Design Fest was the first in-person design-a-thon at UC Davis. This event was ran by Design Interactive, a human-centered UX design club on campus .
As a key board member of the Design Interactive, I was tasked with creating the website and creative brief for the event.

Using Figma, I had worked out the different layers of information that was needed to display to the users of this site. Once I had a solid grasp on the "what" the "how" of the website and its appearance came naturally.
I made sure to utlize the design system provided for Davis Design Fest to make sure the website matched the branding of promotional material that the club had been sending prior.
When the Figma file was complete, I started to visualize how I would segment content within Webflow. One advantage I have is my strength.in front-end coding, which makes Webflow easy to use, since it's drag and drop web developement.
My main concerns when developing was making sure the site was responsive on mobile, since the website would be most frequented on mobile devices.
Putting together this event was incredibly stressful but a ton of fun. As you can see in the picture, the turnout for the design-a-thon was far greater than we had expected.
Seeing so many cool projects and designers together in one room was a true full circle moment for me during my time at Davis. All the design knowledge and wisdom that was shared to me when I was new designer first joining Design Interactive, I was now able to give back to new designers looking for their first project. Truly a blessing!
